With the winter fast approaching, poor credit car finance customers have been encouraged to invest in a set of winter tyres before the weather takes a turn for the worse.
According to research by What Car? winter tyres offer a wide range of benefits over normal tyres in adverse conditions.
In snow, which has been forecast for as early as October, summer tyres take twice the distance to stop on average compared with specialist winter tyres.
They don't only work better on snow and ice, they also perform better than summer tyres on wet roads when the temperature falls below seven degrees C, a fact which may interest bad credit car finance customers.
What Car? editor-in-chief Chas Hallett said: "Winter tyres make for much safer winter driving, so we would encourage all motorists to change their tyres in the colder months. Used in this way a set of winter tyres will last motorists several years."
The organisation's research found the Goodyear UltraGrip 8 to be the best set of winter tyres currently available on the market.
